Assassin's Creed Shadows players can clear Kanegasaki Castle as Naoe, silently eliminating four Samurai Daisho and grabbing the Legendary Chest.

Kanegasaki Castle is one of those Assassin's Creed Shadows objectives that can turn into a real hornet's nest if players charge the front gate with Yasuke. The smart play is to let Naoe do what she does best: go full shinobi, pick off the four Samurai Daisho, and slip out with the Legendary Chest without getting the entire castle on her tail. As of 2026, this route still holds up for players who want a clean, quiet clear.

Where Is Kanegasaki Castle?

Kanegasaki Castle is planted in the northern part of Wakasa, along the coast northeast of the Sotomo Gate. Until the castle's viewpoint is unlocked, the closest fast travel option is the Tsuruga Kakurega to the south. The best infiltration path starts from the south side, where a set of scaffolding waits on the northwestern side of the hill.

🥷 How To Eliminate The First Samurai Daisho

Scale the scaffolding and deal with the guard at the top right away, because nobody needs a spotter blowing the whistle. From the guard tower, look down into the southeastern courtyard and that's the first Daisho. The problem? That courtyard is absolutely swarming with guards.

To get a silent kill, players should circle around to the opposite side of the courtyard until they're perched directly above the Samurai Daisho. Toss a Shinobi Bell to distract the nearby guards, drop in for the assassination, then bounce back to the rooftops before the area goes hot. Quick in, quick out.

🥷 How To Eliminate The Second Samurai Daisho

After the first Daisho is toast, use the tree to cross into the northern section of the castle. Clear the courtyard, then climb the scaffolding and tower to the northwest, taking out the guard at the top for a better view.

The second Daisho is standing on a ledge overlooking the southwestern part of the castle. He's got a six-guard problem around him: two sparring behind him, two practicing archery in front, one patrolling, and one watching from above. The trick is to deal with the oversight first.

  • Kill the guard overlooking the scene closest to the tower.

  • Climb onto the structure in the middle.

  • Wait for the patrolling guard to move toward the back from the front.

  • When the patrolling guard is underneath the structure, take out the second Samurai Daisho.

After the kill, keep away from the ledge so the practicing archers don't ruin the party.

🥷 How To Eliminate The Third Samurai Daisho

From the second Daisho, backtrack across the middle structure and leave the surrounding enemies alone. The third Samurai Daisho is in the same courtyard, slightly north, at the start of a bridge that leads to the castle's highest northern area.

The setup looks worse than it is. A guard in the tower across is looking the wrong way, and two guards near the Daisho are busy chatting. The only real variable is the middle guard still patrolling.

Climb onto the roof of the house near the two talking guards. Wait for the patrolling guard to head back toward the archers, then jump-assassinate the third Daisho and make a break across the bridge. That timing window is the whole ballgame.

🥷 How To Eliminate The Fourth Samurai Daisho

After crossing the bridge, scale the scaffolding to the northeast and quietly take out guards one by one until reaching the northeastern courtyard. The fourth and final Samurai Daisho is standing at the northern edge of the courtyard, along the alley between a house and the courtyard wall. A patient jump assassination closes out the set.

🎁 Rewards at Kanegasaki Castle

With all four Daisho down, players can finally load up on loot.

Side Loot

  • Southeastern lower castle: a chest in the guard tower where players first entered.

  • Eastern side near the first Daisho: an open door with resources to smuggle in a small stable, plus a chest with a cosmetic item in the house across from it.

  • First courtyard after crossing north: a chest next to where the second guard was killed.

  • Northeastern courtyard: a small chest guarded by a wounded samurai in the house next to the fourth Daisho kill.

  • Northernmost courtyard with the viewpoint: a small shed with a resource bundle to smuggle.

  • Central courtyard: a small chest in the same building as the Legendary Chest.

  • Northern area of the central courtyard: a small shed with an open door and more resources to smuggle.

Legendary Chest

After the four Daisho are eliminated, head southeast down the mountain toward the central courtyard. The Legendary Chest is in the house next to where the fourth Daisho was killed, guarded by the two enemies who were chatting earlier.
